Green Globe conducts awareness campaign at Labour Camp

Awareness Programme on “ILL EFFECTS OF SMOKING AND ALCOHOL, PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND WORKSITE SAFETY FOR LABOURERS" was conducted in a construction company; ETA's Sonapur Labour Camp from 7:30 PM on 27.03.2015.

The event was organized to disseminate the strong detestation against smoking, consumption of alcohol and neglection towards the environment. This event was conducted by “Green Globe” an  Environment Youth Organization. Green Globe has organized as well as volunteered for various environmental and humanitarian events. They are also a part of the Earth Charter youth organizations.

10 members of Green Globe of different age groups conducted the programme and it included: -

• Anti-smoking song by members, carrying relevant banners and slogan boards.
• Slide Show on dangers of smoking, consumption of alcohol and tobacco chewing.
• The show also included basics safety measures to be adopted by personnel at workplace and need for  Protection of Environment by recycling of wastage.
• Memberss carrying banners and slogan boards went all around the camp spreading message among employees living in the camp, on ill effects of smoking, alcoholism and tobacco chewing etc.

Each of them came with an effective message to reach out to the labourers. The event was witnessed by a huge crowd of 1500 labourers and has created a profound impact among these labourers to combat these social evils. The labourers were encouraged and moved by these young minds and appreciated their efforts in educating them.
