TUMI Celebrates 40 Years of Innovation

Dubai, March 12, 2015: Founded in 1975, TUMI is proud to celebrate 40 years of design excellence and outstanding product innovation with a collection aptly titled ‘1975’. Designed in America for Global Citizens everywhere, this limited-edition collection is crafted from natural, full grain cowhide leather similar to the variety TUMI imported from South America in the early years and TUMI’s signature ballistic nylon. 
 

Founder Charlie Clifford’s driving passion to make travel easier was the driving force and catalyst that motivated him to create TUMI. TUMI is the moniker for a Peruvian icon inspired by Clifford’s Peace Corps mission in South America. TUMI was launched as an importer of leather goods but Clifford had bigger ideas and his eyes focused upon revolutionizing the travel world. 

The 1975 Collection, launching in stores April 2015, is an exclusive new commemorative collection that embodies the meticulous craftsmanship, technical innovation and functional superiority that TUMI is renowned for and pays homage to its founding year. Please note that the collection will be released in 1975 pieces only.
