Carolina Herrera announces collaboration with photographer, Willy Vanderperre, on the Carolina Herrera New York Spring 2015 advertising campaign. Known for his use of sharp, white lighting effects, pristine and refined set designs, the Anthwerp-based photographer's signature aesthetic and sensibility was perfectly aligned to capture the essence of the brand's new collection. Based on the color code of a flower, a simple bloom digitized into a spectral palette of crisp color paired back to white, Carolina Herrera's Spring 2015 collection in techno fabrics, and geometric detailing suggest an ode to a futuristic garden; further expressed by the runway show staging where pine green obelisks dotted the runway as models traversed about the installation.
For the campaign set, Carolina Herrera was inspired by a visit to the National Gallery in Washington D.C. Approaching the gallery, she was taken by architect I.M. Pei's glass pyramid structures located outside the museum - reflecting the blue sky and surrounding environment, this work too conveyed the notion of a “futuristic garden.” For the campaign set, Vanderperre composed mirrored triangular shapes punctuated by green moss covered linear forms all canopied by a crisp blue sky. Models Josephine Le Tutor and Elisabeth Erm were positioned and lit among the staging to optimally radiate the fine details and silhouettes of the season's collection. From the inception of the collection to the resulting campaign images, Carolina Herrera conveys elegance in a modern and feminine way with a touch of the surreal and whimsy.
