DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – February 23, 2015 – SAP has announced the appointment of Sam Alkharrat as Managing Director of West Coast of North America, effective mid-April 2015. Sam previously served as Head of SAP Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and will relocate to North America.
“We are delighted to bring Sam and his demonstrated leadership skills into SAP’s West Market Unit, which is a center for innovation in technology,” said Jennifer Morgan, President of SAP North America. “During his career at SAP, Sam has showed a passion for the business and the customer that, time and time again, resulted in new levels of customer engagement and success.”
Alkharrat is an IT veteran with 25 years of experience in the high-tech industry, the last five with SAP, leading SAP’s growth expansion as Head of the MENA region.
During his tenure with SAP MENA, Alkharrat put in place a strong regional leadership team and talented employee base capable of delivering SAP’s highest levels of customer support, and ensured that the regional operation enjoyed the direct sponsorship and guidance of the SAP Executive Board.
Commenting on Alkharrat’s departure, Steve Tzikakis, SVP & General Manager of South Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “Sam laid the foundations in MENA for what has become one of SAP’s largest and fastest-growing regions, and his legacy is the solidity of the organization, employee base and customer relationships he leaves behind. Our succession plans are well underway to ensure a smooth transition as SAP’s commitment to the region remains stronger than ever with continued focus on our customer needs and market expansion.
