Engineering Students Win 1st Prize in Global IEEE Day Photo Contest 2014- Second Year in a Row!

Ajman University Student’s proved their mettle yet again, at an international platform. The IEEE Day Photo Contest 2013 was about bringing together engineers world-wide to demonstrate and compete with their creativity and talent in presenting the year’s theme of “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”.
The objective of the competition was to motivate students to initiate, organize and coordinate events taking into consideration the theme of 2014 and submit their pictures for evaluation. The Final-Round Evaluation was a 2-Phase process:
Phase 1: Public voting by networking online with the tools made available for this purpose: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or the IEEE Day website.
Phase 2: Evaluation of objective, concept and outcomes by IEEE esteemed panel of judges.
The competition was open to all IEEE student branches across the world. Numerous entries competed for the 10 winning positions. AUST Women In Engineering (WIE) members proved themselves to be the best in the world by winning the 1st place in Global IEEE Day Photo Competition 2014.
The winning team comprised of 10 IEEE WIE members from the College of Engineering & the College of Infromation Technology; Ammara Javed, Surat Sidra, Abrar Noorallah, Nuha Dawood, Amira Irshad, Eman Younes, Sadia Naeem, Doaa Hassan, Maryam Younis, Maria Javed. The project was supervised by Engineer. Samia Mahil.
