Abu Dhabi, UAE, 03November, 2014: Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the UAE’s national railway network, today (3 November) celebrated the UAE’s Flag Day to mark the tenth anniversary of His Highness Royal Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession as President.
Eng. Faris Saif Al Mazrouei, Acting CEO of Etihad Rail, and Eng. Shadi Malak, Acting CEO of Etihad Rail DB,together led a team of employees to hoist the UAE flagatthe Capital Gate offices in a celebration of national unity.
“Today, the UAE celebrates UAE Flag Day, in a sincere expression of national unity and recognition of the wise leadership of HRH Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. As a government organisation that is buildingthe national railway network in line with the UAE Vision 2021, we are deeply committed to our role in the country’s future growth and development,” said Etihad Rail Acting CEOEng. Faris Saif Al Mazrouei. “A strategic national initiative, the rail project will connect the UAE’s majorcentres of population and industry and deliver substantial benefits to the economy, our people and our environment.”
The flag was also raised by the Etihad Rail DB team, the joint venture company which will operate and maintain the first stage of the UAE’s national railway network on-site at the Operations Control Centre in Mirfa in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi.
Etihad Rail’scelebration was part of a nationwide initiative led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who has called upon all UAE citizens and government departments to hoist the UAE flag as a sign of national unity.
