Tadweer Participates in National Show for Society Awareness and Humanitarian Services

TAWEYA 2014 Promotes Awareness on Importance of Waste Segregation at Source through Educational Workshop

Abu Dhabi–UAE: 22 October 2014 - Tadweer (The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi) has marked an emphatic participation at the fourth edition of the National Show for Society Awareness and Humanitarian Services - TAWEYA 2014 - through hosting an educational workshop to raise awareness on the importance of waste segregation at source.

Occupying an exhibition space of 120 square meters, Tadweer is also conducting awareness lectures to educate people on best practices in the segregation of common household waste, highlighting the benefits of waste reducing, reusing and recycling. 

The three-day annual humanitarian event is currently underway at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and concludes on October 22, 2014. The current edition of the event held under the theme of ‘Awareness…Volunteering…Humanitarian Services’ offers an engaging platform for regulatory authorities and government departments to demonstrate their services that prioritize the well-being of the community and future generations.  

Khaled Al Bloushi, Public Awareness Section Head at Tadweer, said: “Tadweer is working relentlessly to create an enabling environment that supports our long-term economic and sustainability goals of achieving a safe and healthy environment in Abu Dhabi. Our efforts are in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 that seeks to position the capital as a leading world city in environment and sustainability. This workshop is in line with Tadweer’s priority to develop and implement awareness programs that highlight the three R’s of waste management. Through such initiatives, we aim to engage the community and enhance public health and safety standards in the UAE.”

Fatimah Ahmad Al Harmoudi, Public Awareness Officer from Tadweer added: “Increased waste production leads to greater environmental impact. This educational workshop has provided an important learning opportunity for everyone involved on the importance of ensuring cleanliness and maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the city.”
