The New Collection Embraces the Brand’s Midwestern Roots
And Celebrates Modern Farmhouse Style
September 2014 – Leading home furnishings destination Crate and Barrel introduces its fall 2014 collection, welcoming the season with a classic product offering inspired by the modern farmhouse. At an affordable price point, the new fall collection offers a simple and stress-free way to decorate and entertain in this season’s hottest style, the modern farmhouse, and celebrate family-friendly holidays.
The new fall assortment showcases the brand’s signature entertaining expertise and simple but elegant design solutions. Effortlessly transitioning between the seasons, the collection emphasizes natural materials and warm finishes, in a palette of soft neutrals accented with hues of indigo, orange and citron. Unique products from glowing art glass to intricately stitched pillows to hand-hammered pewter serveware celebrate hand-craft and add a personal touch to every room.
“The new Crate and Barrel Fall Collection brings our interpretation of the farm-to-table movement into a modern farmhouse setting,” said Raymond Arenson, Crate and Barrel Executive Vice President Merchandising. “For inspiration, we sent our buyers on a road trip to the farm stands and flea markets of the Midwest country side. All of the products we are introducing this fall have extraordinary stories that begin with design and value and are told with a voice that is distinctly Crate and Barrel. We are proud and excited to bring these stories to our customers for Fall 2014.”
Trends from the Fall 2014 Collection include:
● Modern Farmhouse – With an emphasis on simple comfort and natural elegance. Crate and Barrel presents a collection inspired by the modern farmhouse and the shared experiences of autumn: the farmer’s market, a roadside farm stand and communal holiday tables. Natural materials and organic textures create a relaxed environment, anchored by sofas and tables scaled for gathering and accented by hand-crafted accessories. Furniture highlights include: Fremont Extension Table (by Russell Pinch), Ellyson slip corner sofa, Sebago Chair and the Origami Drop Leaf Table. The new collection also includes a selection of seasonal accessories and tabletop to complement the modern farmhouse look, including the Modern Rooster Print, Silva Serveware Collection and a selection of sculptural, hand-made baskets (Hooper, Harbert, Bruno, and Auburn, among others), plus farmyard-inspired ceramics to cheer any table, including the Cow, Rooster and Bull Bowls.
● Autumn Celebrations – For the host who loves to get spooky at Halloween, Crate and Barrel’s expanded Halloween collection offers fun and festive party decor and entertaining essentials from the front door to the dining room table. Create a spooky welcome at the front door for guests with the metal skeleton luminary and pumpkin lanterns and set a magical Halloween party table with accents such as Carved Wood Ravens, Bat Punch Bowl and Cups, Raven and Pumpkin Plates, Tombstone Slate Cheese Board, Cauldron Bowls and Haunted House Table Runner.
For one-stop Thanksgiving shopping, Crate and Barrel offers the full range of cooking and baking essentials plus everything needed to create an unforgettable holiday table. New introductions include the Marin Turkey Platter, Wheat and stacks, and Volcanic Ash Gourds.
● Cozy Gatherings – Exclusive new introductions by up-and-coming UK-based designers Russell Pinch (Cullen Apartment Sofa); and Genevieve Bennet (Bessie Rug) reflect the season’s warm and inviting character. New fall throws such as the Aubree Teal Throw and Costas Plaid Throw add a layer of colorful, cozy welcome, especially when combined with richly hued, hand-stitched pillows such as Hepburn, Farrah, Flannery and Wendell.
