Emirates Post Group issues special stamps to mark Zayed Humanitarian Day

Dubai, July 23, 2014: Emirates Post Group has issued a set of commemorative stamps in coordination with Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Work, featuring the logo of “Zayed Humanitarian Day.”

In coordination with the Ministry of Social and Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Work, an ornamental frame of the stamps was presented to HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, and President of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, by His Excellency Obaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for financial affairs and Chairman of Emirates Post Group, at a special presentation ceremony.

The stamps reflect Emirates Post Group’s support to the "Zayed Humanitarian Day" initiative on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the death of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, launched by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation across the UAE to mark Zayed Humanitarian Day, which is observed on 19 Ramadan, in tribute to the nation’s founding father and leading philanthropist, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Mr. Fahad Al Hosani, Acting CEO of Emirates Post Group, said the Group was delighted to issue the commemorative stamps bearing the symbol of humanity, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as a tribute to his humanitarian contribution at local and global levels. He added that the issuing of the stamp reflects the Group’s commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to strengthening community bonds.

Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Post Group, said the generous nature of the nation’s father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, had left leaving a lasting impact on the lives of thousands of people around the globe. This special stamp brings alive the generosity of a great and generous leader and reiterates Emirates Post Group’s support to humanitarian activities and noble initiatives.

Several federal ministries, government departments and private entities joined hands to celebrate the Zayed Humanitarian Day, and remember Sheikh Zayed’s spirit of giving and his efforts to promote the Emirati culture of giving across the world.
