UAE, July 17, 2014 - Dabur International, one of the most trusted and recognized personal and healthcare companies in the world, successfully organized a blood donation campaign recently at Latifa Hospital in Dubai. The event, which is part of the company’s activities for the Holy Month of Ramadan and also falls in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, was held in collaboration with the Dubai Blood Donation Centre, the UAE’s major blood bank. Employees from Dabur’s head office in Dubai and its manufacturing plant in Ras Al Khaimah participated in the event.
The initiative was undertaken with an aim to provide assistance to patients suffering from thalassemia, cancer and maternity health complications, patients scheduled for open-heart surgeries, and victim of road and burn accidents, among others. Through its CSR activities, Dabur plays an active role in promoting responsive civic and social duties, such as blood donation among its employees and consumers, which makes a positive impact on the larger community and the environment.
Rikka Mehta, Head of Marketing Communications, Dabur International, said: “Over the years, Dabur International has implemented various CSR programs that are aimed at supporting various charitable causes. The recently organized Blood Donation campaign is part of our celebrations for the Holy Month of Ramadan and has been designed to increase more awareness on the need for healthy blood that can be used for emergencies. Since the shelf life of blood is only 42 days, we highly encourage people to donate blood on a regular basis. We thank Dubai Blood Donation Centre and Latifa Hospital for extending their support during the drive and we assure them of our regular contribution through similar campaigns that we will be organizing throughout the year.”
