Sony Unveils New DSLR-style Cyber-shot Camera with High Optical Zoom

Dubai-UAE: 17 April, 2014 – Sony has introduced its new professional looking DSLR-style Cyber-shot™ camera, the DSC-HX400V, which packs an extraordinary punch with 50x Optical Zoom and on-board GPS and Wi-Fi without weighing you down.   

The DSC-HX400V’s clear image zoom offers high quality frame-filling 100x close-ups of wildlife or distant landmarks, while its Optical SteadyShot and Intelligent Active Mode produce sharp and blur free full HD videos. With GPS and Wi-Fi onboard, users can now retrace their travels with map views on a PC and send photos and videos directly to smartphones, tablets or other devices.

Thanks to the premium-quality ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens, high-resolution back-illuminated Exmor R™ CMOS sensor with 20.4 effective megapixels and new BIONZ X processor, pictures are reproduced in rich, vivid detail. Shared with the Cyber-shot™ RX10 and full-frame a7, the powerful detail reproduction technology and area-specific noise reduction ensures cleaner and more natural images in high quality colours, contrast and textures, even in dim light.

Featuring a DSLR-style body, the compact DSC-HX400V has a manual ring for smooth adjustment of zoom/focus, a switch for selecting Manual Focus and DMF modes, a jog dial, custom buttons, and memory for favourite settings. And, with full P/A/S/M controls, users have a range of exposure options to create pictures and Full HD movies. 

Framing and focusing is enabled through the high-contrast electronic viewfinder that offers a crisp, bright view of the subject. Alternatively, users can compose and view shots on the 7.5cm (3.0-type) Xtra Fine LCD that tilts for a more comfortable view with the camera held high or low.

On-board Wi-Fi lets you send photos and videos straight to your smartphone or tablet, while NFC connects effortlessly with compatible mobile devices at a single touch. You can even use your phone as a handy remote controller: perfect for group photos when you want to be in the photo.

After shooting, connect your camera to your 4K TV and experience a thrilling new world of photo realism on the big screen. Additionally, with GPS on board, the camera enables you to easily retrace your travels with exciting map views on your PC, documenting exactly where all your photos and video were taken.
