Global Village Awards Partners for a Successful 18th Season

Congratulations and Awards handed out to Investors; Winners of the Annual Media Awards for Global Village, and the Government Authorities
Global Village to Carry On Receiving Visitors until the 12th April, 2014
Dubai, 26 March, 2014: Global Village, Dubai’s leading family entertainment and cultural destination, would like to congratulate all involved in another extremely successful season at Global Village, where the world comes together and celebrates the diverse countries and cultures that make up Dubai and the UAE. The award giving was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. As another season of Global Village ends, management would like to extend thanks to all people and departments who have made the 18th season of Global Village so memorable.
Ahmad Hussein, COO of Global Village, has said “Global Village is an accumulation of months and months of hard work. We work hard with our partners, such as the pavilion organizers, exhibitors, and restaurants and many other companies and government departments. By working with the same goal in mind we all maintain a high standard of functionality as well as providing visitors with a whole host of brand new entertainers, a means by which to promote cultural diversity and experiences that they cannot attain anywhere else in the region. On behalf of Global Village I would like to give thanks to all those who have helped make the 18th season of Global Village one of the best seasons we have ever experienced. We have experienced some great entertainment, food, and shopping. ”
Global Village also awarded investors for bringing new initiatives and entertainment to Global Village by creating and providing interesting and
attractive features, rides, or kiosks. Each one of these awards is a thank you from Global Village for showing the diversity of the cultures within Dubai and the UAE.
• The Best Kiosk initiative went to Snowie (part of SME).
• The Best Outlet prize went to the 3D Haunted House.
• Holland Mini Pancakes picked up the Best Retail award.
• The Best Restaurant award went to Bosporus Turkish Restaurant.
• The Chinese Pavilion won the Best Cultural Show
• The Best Pavilion Initiative went to Iran and Pakistan.
• Egypt went on to win the overall Best Pavilion award and
• Kuwait won the Best Façade award.
Global Village gave a special Appreciation Award to the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center for sharing the rich history and culture of Dubai through their activation corner at Global Village. The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center provided visitors with a unique view of what life in the UAE was like and the significance it has to the local traditions.
The UAE’s armed forces were also given an Appreciation Award for bringing a special military museum to Global Village so that families could see the role that the UAE’s armed forces have within the UAE and their military capabilities. The armed forces also provided entertainment during the National Day celebrations, showing visitors the Youllah dance of the UAE.
The Mellor’s Group also received an Appreciation Award bringing, for the first time ever in the Middle East, the great Fantasy Island concept for families to enjoy over the season. The Mellor’s Group, a company with over 100 years’ experience in providing fairground rides, brought a wholly new feature to the Middle East with their Fantasy Island themed fairground. Their consistency in providing safe, fun, and unique rides meant families were happy than ever when visiting the funfair.
