INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Saturday 8th March marked the highly anticipated evening for International Women’s Day in Dubai’s sought-after Bā Restaurant & Lounge at Fairmont The Palm, located on Palm Jumeirah. Heralded as Dubai’s hot new ticket, the restaurant appeals to foodies and the fashion conscious alike.
Styled and decorated by CHERRY ON TOP, the evening was hosted by TV Presenter and Founder of The Female Network, SHEREEN MITWALLI, with motivating words from JOELLE MARDINIAN, TV Personality and Entrepreneur; ALMAS JIWANI, President of UN Women Canada; and NIHAL EL DALY, Vice President of Marketing Operations at Unilever.

Bā Restaurant & Lounge opened its doors to some of the biggest names across the Dubai party scene, welcoming guests such as, ALANOUD BADR, DIALA MAKKI, TAMARA AL GABBANI, LUBNA AL ZAKWANI, SAHAR WAHBE, UMA GOSH DESHPANDE, JESSICA KAWAHATY, ZEENA ZAKI, AISHWARYA AJIT, AMANDA NAVAIA, LESLEY CULLY, KELLY LUNDBERG, YASEMIN RICHIE, ASIL ATTAR, ALMAS JIWANI, LAYLA SHUGRI, LOULOU KHAZEM BAZ, LUCY BRUCE, FEYROUZ ASHOURA, MAY BARBER, who indulged in a range of miniaturised versions of Bā’s signature dishes to start including Spice Smoked Duck, Brocolini with Hoisin Dip, and Farm Prawn Meat in Crispy Soy Bean Skin with Thai Chilli Sauce. Guests were then invited downstairs where a candle lit dinner awaited, including the famous Slow-Cooked Wagyu Beef with Black Pepper Sauce.

Dinner was followed with a presentation of gifts including the ‘Power Blazer’ by LADY FOZAZA, Mochi Midi Skirt by ALL THINGS MOCHI, Pajama Party for 5 at WILLOW STREAM SPA, Make-up Hamper from MAXFACTOR, Staycation at FAIRMONT THE PALM, Illustration by artist HASSAN HASSAN, Private Reception for Six in BA LOUNGE, and Chanel Shoes from THE FEMALE NETWORK.

After dessert came the unfolding of Storyline artwork by artist and interior designer YASEMIN RICHIE which was exclusively made for Ba Restaurant & Lounge and inspired by the Chinese film, Curse of The Golden Flower.

DJ ILONA wowed the crowd with an electric set, which was followed by Bā Restaurant & Lounge’s renowned jazz singer SABRINA MONTGOMERY, who serenaded guests with a range of power-women songs and nostalgic Jazz from yester-year which led the crowd partying through the night. Guests were packed off home with incredible goodie bags filled with products from DOVE and MAXFACTOR and MAISON DE JOELLE.
