Dubai Health Authority(DHA) conducts 748 training courses in 2013

More than 18,569 employees take part in these programs.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 10, 2014: The Dubai Health Authority’s(DHAs) medical education department organised 748 training programs in 2013 and more than 18,569 employees benefitted from these programs, said a top DHA official.
Dr Muhammad Nassif, Director of Medical Education at the DHA said: “ The training courses include workshops and conferences in the field of medicine, administration and information technology. These courses are accredited and add value to the job skills of DHA employees.”
Among the several courses organised, the life-saver program included several important training courses such as Basic Life Support (BLS) course, Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS). These courses teach participants life-saving skills in times of emergency.
Nassif said that the training center is the largest one in the UAE and second biggest in the MENA to provide the (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation )CPR course.
The department organized several courses for different categories of employees such as doctors, nurses, technicians and administrators.
He said the department organized a total of 748 courses, of these 132 were medical conferences and workshops, 324 programs were for life support and emergency management, 113 were IT workshops,155 were administrative workshops and 24 workshops were related to medical research.
He said the courses were conducted in English and Arabic and was aimed to raise the knowledge and skills of employees.
Nassif said: “ The medical field is ever-evolving and therefore training is particularly essential for the health sector given the constant developments and break-through in this field. At the DHA, we provide significant emphasis in the area of training- both medical and non-medical. We are seen a growth in the number of courses and participants over the years and it is our aim to continue providing our employees with a platform where they can have access to the best of training programs that are accredited so that they can enhance their skillsets.”
