THE WEST COAST (some say the best coast) captures our spirit this season. California's effortless blend of work, play and daily life is echoed in a merge of texture, material and tone. Grounding it all is a group of fresh, Sonoran desert neutrals.
LAID BACK is her spring mantra—the comfort, and the easy chic, of a true-life story. Very California. Our new luxe, peached-wash chinos are meant to be rolled-up with a relaxed attitude. Borrowed from the boys and softened by the girls, fabrics like linen and layered 3D knits are all key. Covetable pieces kick off with the Heritage Jacket, the Silk Camp Shirt and a dramatic Wide Leg Denim Trouser. The palette ranges from soft white to cantaloupe to cognac accessories. Among them, the Wristlet Clutch, Slender Belts and the return of the Cross-body Bag.
HIS TAKE leans toward easy California style with utility influences. Stone double face denim, rolled at the cuff, reveals the khaki under-color. Washed 2-ply signature cotton chinos, now in our slimmest Aiden fit, pair effortlessly with summer-weight sweaters and washed linen shirts. Even his tailoring kicks back with a cool Linen Trouser—non-chalant and elegant at the same time.
TEXTURE comes in layers this spring, polished without getting fussy. For instance, a slubby linen shirt chills-out his stretch cotton suit. Blocked materials add weightless dimension. For her, that means pique and slub cotton combined with unexpected leather details—all in one great Zip Front Jacket. She'll wear it morning, noon and night.
MODERN AMERICAN SPORTSWEAR accents are woven through out. White Perforated Leather makes a great Handbag for her, and an even more memorable Dress. A crisp Poplin Shirt Dress in navy pairs perfectly with a Structured Zip Up Sweater. Silk, as in a Pocketed Shirt-Blouse, and a White Fit-n-Flare Skirt play well together. Sporting Graphics give an eye-catching element to her must-have Wide Leg Framed Pants and Color Block Bags. His updated classics center on an outerwear story with a twist, including a Knit Peacoat in an innovative yarn and the Perfect Trench with a new fit and detail. Looks like we'll all be California dreaming…
