Technology Collaboration Links Electronic Clinical Data and Imaging for Improve Patient Care
Dubai, 3rd February 2014 – Mach7, a leading provider of vendor neutral image management solutions and Orion Health, a leading provider of healthcare integration and workflow technology, today announced a collaboration that will allow healthcare regions and networks in the Middle East to unify access to imaging and non-imaging data, will helping to reduce the cost of information access and image management for its users.
By linking Mach7's Keystone Vendor Neutral Archive and Orion Health's Clinical Portal, clinicians will be provided unified access to non-image and image data within the same secure clinical view.
The joint solution is particularly useful in rapidly developing healthcare economies, where integration of existing clinical IT with a vendor-neutral imaging infrastructure is an economically viable strategy to immediately assist in improving regional and national e-Health capabilities.
“Mach7's innovative approach to creating a ‘best of breed' Enterprise Imaging Platform strongly complements Orion Health's global experience in building regional and national e-Health systems by integrating health information systems,” said Eric Rice, Mach 7's Chief Technology Officer. “Modern healthcare workflow demands rapid and secure access to patient information, regardless of source, and our partnership responds to this need.”
For advanced Radiology image viewing as part of a shared electronic clinical record, the Orion Health solution provides an Enterprise Image Viewing module. The Orion Health Enterprise Imaging Viewer is designed to provide access to radiology results and images from anywhere within an e-Health network enabled via Mach7's Keystone VNA platform.
Medical images are displayed alongside other patient information such as laboratory results, clinical documents, correspondence and medication data within a “zero-client” portal that has an intuitive design and should require no additional hardware or bandwidth. The joint solution can be quickly deployed, providing physicians with almost immediate access to patient images and associated results from multiple clinical repositories using standards based approach utilizing DICOM, XDS and WADO.
Sold directly and through a growing network of regional distributors around the globe, Mach7's enterprise platform solutions solve interoperability challenges across the imaging continuum and provide clinically defined workflow based medical image access across the healthcare enterprise.
“The collaborative nature of modern healthcare requires that medical images are available to care providers alongside non-image clinical data,” said Charles Scatchard, President of International at Orion Health. “The partnership between Orion Health with a leading VNA solution vendor such as Mach7 will assist clinicians to collaborate both inside and outside the hospital, while assisting healthcare systems to reduce the cost of information access and image management.”
