Dancing Competition at Lamcy Plaza garners great response

Celebrity guest judges as Uma Deshpande, RJ Vikrant and Zoha Beig, graced the occasion and evaluated the participants on various aspects of dancing.

Dubai, Dec 4, 2013: Dance fans in their hundreds kept their date at Lamcy Plaza on Nov 29th, to witness the finale of the first-ever dancing competition being hosted by a mall in the UAE. Organised in co-operation with Tee & Bee, Tanaaz and Bakhtiyar Irani's dance academy in Dubai, the gala event saw precocious talents from the various emirates in the UAE showcase their ability on the dance floor and not only take home exciting prizes, but garner a whole lot of fame along the way. It was an evening of thrill and excitement both for the participants and fans alike, with the latter wholeheartedly putting their weight behind their favourite performers.

Celebrity guest judges as Uma Deshpande, RJ Vikrant and Zoha Beig, graced the occasion and evaluated the participants on various aspects of dancing. The finale was one to savor, with fans shouting themselves hoarse and egging each of the finalists to dizzying heights, thus making the competition's final evening a memorable occasion for all.

The final evening saw the best dance acts incorporating myriad dance forms on show, with each performer leaving no stone unturned to raise the bar and provide stiff competition for the ones to follow. Lamcy Plaza, the venue, reverberated with periodic applause as participants shimmied and twirled their way through a demanding competition in front of a live, energetic audience, enthralling one and all with eye-catching moves to some foot-tapping music.

While each participant showcased dancing talent of a very high order, the following winners bagged most of the votes from the audience and the judges. In the Group Category there was a tie between 2 groups - ABCD Dance Studio & Marina & Group. Idha was awarded the first prize in the 6-8 years category, while Priyanhsu was offered the first position in the 9-12 years category. Vikhyath and Neha Swaminathan were awarded the first position in the men and women solo category.

Speaking at the finale, Tanaaz and Bakhtiyar said. “It was a mesmerizing competition. The participation was heartwarming and it felt great to see people from all walks of life come in to see people dance and enjoy. Lamcy Plaza is one of the most favoured shopping malls in Dubai and co-organising an event with them was just perfect. For us, everyone was a winner. We look forward to holding more such events in the future.”
