Seminar on Korean Ginseng held in Dubai by Department of Nutrition

Dubai, November, 2013: If you had heard about Korean Ginseng, and did not know much about it, then there is no need to despair. The Department of Nutrition & Continuing Medical Education, UAE Ministry of Health and the Korea Ginseng Association are hosting a seminar on Korean Ginseng to shed light about the miracle roots.
The one-day seminar, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, was focusing on Korean Ginseng effects, its research, advantages and busts the myths with facts. The seminar was addressed by Maysoon Alshaer, Head of Department of Nutrition & CME, and deputy director of the Sharjah Medical, Ministry of Health, and Prof. [Dr] Si-Kwan Kim, President of Korea Society of Ginseng.
For starters, Korean Ginseng is a perennial herb of the Araliaceae family that has been used for thousands of years as a natural antidote for various illnesses. Approved by World Health Organization, the only part of Korean Ginseng that possesses health qualities is its root. There are many kinds of Ginseng but the most effective is Korean or Panax Ginseng.
Used for medicinal purposes in different parts of the Asia for thousands of years, Korean Ginseng is known for fighting fatigue and relieves stress by strengthening immunization; is highly effective against illness, improves blood circulation, brain and antioxidant functions and prevents cardiovascular, besides being effective against cancer, diabetes and sub fertility.
Korean Ginseng also helps in preventing common cold and flu and improves cross-protection against influenza vaccines. During the seminar, Prof. [Dr] Si-Kwan Kim, who has presented numerous papers across the world and is a well-known expert on Korean Ginseng, showcased the benefits of Ginseng and presented its increased use in today's stressed living environment.
Talking about the seminar, Prof. [Dr] Si-Kwan Kim said: “Korean Ginseng is the most widely used and studied Ginseng in the world. Almost 3,000 research articles on Korean ginseng have been published to date. It is the strongest Ginseng and it is pertinent that we present its benefits in Dubai for the world to take notice of this miracle root.”
Maysoon Alshaer added: “Korean Ginseng has a positive effect in making the whole body healthy. If you take it daily, it can balance all of the systems in the body and make you healthier. Korean ginseng has been used to lower cholesterol, reduce stress and boost energy, treat diabetes, treat depression and sharpen the mind and memory. It is an herb that really does a lot for you. However, high doses should be taken after a doctor consultation. It is forbidden for patients with heart problems and high blood pressure with no side effects on the memory or brain. We invite experts from all walks of life and the residents of the UAE to learn more about how the Korean Ginseng is helpful in preventing illnesses like cancer and arthritis.”
Growing in uncontaminated environment in Korea, the Ginseng is part of a 1000-plus year cultivation history with a variety of Ginseng saponins with a state-of-the-art technology for processing. The Korean Ginseng strengthens the potency of anti-cancer agents as it also builds the immune function of the body, which have been proven through medical studies over years.
