Arab Woman Awards UAE 2013 announced

Prestigious awards dedicated to the achievements of women in the UAE
2013 Judges Board members announced & meet to discuss nominations

6th November 2013 - Dubai, UAE:  ITP, the largest publishing house in the Gulf region (GCC), today announced the formation of the Arab Woman Awards UAE 2013.  Following five successful consecutive years of the Arab Woman Awards Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the organizers have unified these awards to include nominations and participation of successful women from all seven emirates. Since its formation the Arab Woman Awards have recognised over 150 women from sectors including business, education, art, literature, sport, fashion, health, humanitarian, media and entrepreneurship.

Sue Holt, Deputy Managing Director of ITP Consumer and Founder of the Arab Woman Awards said “This year we have unified the awards to become one platform that supports the incredibly talented women from all across the UAE.  Our goal is to discover these extraordinary females who set examples in every field; they are inspirational leaders and pioneers in this modern society and we are pleased to be able to provide a platform in which to show their achievements. We have witnessed growth of the awards across the GCC and the outstanding nominations that we receive year after year. We are honoured to be part of a movement that values the contribution of women to the UAE”.

The fifteen winners are privately selected by a Judges Board who this year consist of highly influential women who have each demonstrated achievements and success in their own right.  Each board member was selected by ITP based on their integrity, expertise and their role in the community.  This year's Board  includes H.E Ameera Bin Karam, Founding Member and President of the Pan-UAE Breast Cancer Initiative -The Pink Caravan, Dr. Manahel Thabet, Founder & President of SmartTips Consultants, H.E Badria Al Mulla, President -International Emirates Management for Quality (leMQ), Roberta Calarese, Chief Legal Officer - DIFC Authorities, Nadine Malouf, Owner-SME Advisory Group, Hind Beljafla, Founder of Das Collection, Hind Seddiqi, ýVP Marketing - Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Nadine El Chaer, Editor in Chief at ITP Publishing.  The Arab Judges met today at Gaucho Restaurant in DIFC to discuss this year's nominations with the winners being announced at a glittering red carpet ceremony on 8th December 2013 at Sofitel Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Research into the nominations has taken two months with  ITP providing the Judges Board with a set of strict criteria to follow that ensures the winners are nominated objectively based on their accomplishments in the last 12 months and their contribution to the country.  Previous recipients of the Arab Woman Awards include H.E Huda Al Matroushi, H.E Fatima Al Jaber and Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment and wife of His Highness Sheikha Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The Arab Woman Awards UAE 2013 is hosted in partnership with the Sofitel Hotel, Abu Dhabi with other supporters including Sayidaty, Uterque, Victoria's Secret and Grace & Garbo.
