Ambulatory Healthcare Services to Start Receiving Patients at Al Shamkha Healthcare Center

Abu Dhabi-UAE: November 3, 2013 – Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), has announced the opening of Al Shamkha Healthcare Center for consultations from November 4, 2013.
Al Shamkha Healthcare Center, which is licensed by the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi to provide specialized healthcare consultations in the emirate, will function from Sunday to Thursday from 9:00am - 9:00pm.
The center will offer holistic patient health services such as consultation and referral, vaccination, screening, chronic disease management, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, clinical breast examination, ‘weqaya' screening, patient and family health education, general and family medicine, travel medicine, mother-and-child care and general dentistry. The center is also equipped to offer dermatology services, pediatrics, antenatal and ultrasound services, and plans to include ophthalmology, cardiology and ENT in the upcoming stages of development.
Mohamed Hawas, acting CEO at AHS, said: “We are delighted with the opening of Al Shamkha Healthcare Center to ensure that our quality healthcare services are available to residents in Al Shamkha and the neighboring communities. As part of our preliminary operations, Al Shamkha Healthcare Center will provide a range of essential healthcare services and we plan to introduce more specialty services during the 1st quarter of 2014.”
He added: “At AHS, we are committed to continuously upgrading our facilities and providing quality services to meet international standards. Our new facility will include 6 physicians, 23 nurses, 2 dentists, 2 dental assistants, 4 phlebotomists, and 4 pharmacists to ensure patients receive premium medical attention and their wellbeing is prioritized.”
AHS has also introduced specialty services at the Madinat Mohamed Bin Zayed Healthcare Center, which has received more than 8500 patients since its opening in June this year. Further specializations are expected to be added in coming months.
