DHA delegation visits Jordan.

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, Dubai, October 7, 2013: A high-ranking delegation from the Dubai Health Authority's Health Regulation
Department visited Jordan and met with senior officials to discuss cooperation in the field of healthcare accreditations and regulations.
The delegation headed by Dr Ramadan Ibrahim, Director of DHA Health Regulation met with Dr Mahmood Sarhan, Chairman of the board of directors of the Jordan Health Accreditation Council and Ms Salma Jaouni, CEO of the Jordan Health Accreditation Council to discuss the Jordanian accreditation standards for hospitals and healthcare facilities and to exchange information on best practises in the field. The DHA discussed its plans to develop Dubai National Standards for healthcare facilities based on DHA regulations.
The DHA also discussed the need for continuous training of health inspectors and surveyors to ensure provision of high quality health services.
Ibrahim met with HE Dr Ali Hyasat, Jordanian Minister of Health and the two sides discussed several issues including development of medical tourism.
Ali Hyasat provided an overview of the development in the health sector in Jordan and the attention paid by the government to support and strengthen the capacity of the private sector.
The DHA delegation met Dr. Adam Al Abdalat, Secretary General of the Jordan Medical Council. The two sides discussed the progress of the Jordanian medical board exams and exams post internship. The two sides also discussed the licensing procedure for medical professions such as dentists etc.
The delegation discussed the role of public-private partnership during their meeting with Dr Fowzi Al Hammoori, President of Private hospitals Council in Jordan.
The delegation also met with Engineer Rami Al Adwan, Executive Director of the National Programme for electronic computerization of healthcare systems for hospitals "Hakeem”
Al Adwan presented the benefits achieved by the project in the field of electronic medical files, laboratory, radiology and others.
The delegation visited Prince Hamza Hospital, King Hussein cancer center and Jordan Hospital to see how accreditations have improved the quality of service provision.
