ABU DHABI, UAE, October 06, 2013-- Autodesk, a world leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment creation software, revealed its successful participation at the second edition of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Conference in the Middle East, which was held recently at the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi Men's College. The event was organized by the Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering at Stanford University in cooperation with Consolidated Contractors Company, Projacs Middle East and the Higher Colleges of Technology-UAE. Autodesk, the USD 2 billion design and engineering software firm and the pioneer of BIM solutions, was an Associate Sponsor for the event.
iTech, one of Autodesk's partners and resellers, was also present as one of the companies that gave a talk and a presentation at the conference. Featured speakers shared how today's firms have achieved widespread and deep penetration of BIM-based development, design, engineering and construction practices across all project phases. The BIM Conference in the Middle East served as a strategic platform for Autodesk to showcase its latest range of technologies for the building industry including its range of breakthrough design software suites that are helping to transform the global USD 7 trillion construction industry.
“Autodesk are pioneers of BIM and our presence at the second edition of BIM Conference in the Middle East has given us the privilege to see how this technology has progressed in the region,” said Hasan Malki, Major Accounts Sales Manager, AEC at Autodesk. “The global construction industry is currently witnessing a shift in how designs and plans are transferred and shared. Mobile devices have now come into play and are now widely being used to share essential data across stakeholders like contractors, architects, owners and the like. With this in mind, we have created solutions that utilize both cloud and mobile technologies—allowing contractors and design professionals to work anywhere, share anywhere and have access to an infinite amount of computing power.”
