First Weekend ‘World of Fashion' at Mall of the Emirates

Jam-packed weekend of runway shows from international designers showcasing autumn/winter collections

Dubai, UAE, 01 October 2013 – World of Fashion, the signature event at Mall of the Emirates kicks off this weekend with a frenzy of show stopping runway shows. Starting Thursday, October 3rd, Tommy Hilfiger's New York and Tailored lines will hit the catwalk, setting the upbeat tone for the next two weeks. ‘Style with Tommy' will include four don't-miss fashion shows at 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm with the official inauguration of this year's World of Fashion taking place at 7.30pm with an opening address by Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Senior Director – Property Management for Majid Al Futtaim Properties. 

On Friday, October 4th the runway will transform into a ‘High Street Bazaar' with fashion for everyone from favorites Bershka and Salsa. Shows will be non-stop from 5:30pm to 9:00pm.  Katakeet luxury children's boutique will present their latest collection at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 5th; followed by Bebe's ‘Street Chic NYC' collection at 6:00pm. DKNY, accompanied by Dubai style blogger Tala Samman, will close out the ‘Fashion City' show at 7:00pm.

Students from ESMOD fashion institute in Dubai will put on two cutting-edge fashion shows on Sunday, October 6th at 6:30pm. Then, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, famed Italian jeweler Roberto Coin flies in to host a prestigious event for guests to enjoy.

With so many exciting runways shows, the first weekend of ‘World of Fashion' is sure to be a hit with fashionistas. World of Fashion will feature daily catwalk shows and in-mall activities until October 14th.

Demonstrating that ‘fashion cares', World of Fashion will help raise funds for a noteworthy cause with the Middle East launch of the ‘Watch Hunger Stop' by Michael Kors and Halle Barry. A unique event will take place at the Michael Kors store hosted by popular fashion blogger Alanoud Badr and for every watch sold 100 meals will be provided to hungry children around the world.

Throughout the month of October, shoppers can fall head-over-heels for fashion by shopping just AED 699 for the chance to win an exclusive new Autumn/Winter wardrobe worth AED 75,000! Fall for Fashion is doubling coupons for visitors shopping within the fashion category of Mall of the Emirates. The mall is also celebrating ‘Golden Week' from October 1st to 9th to thank Chinese shoppers visiting Mall of the Emirates. To mark Chinese National Day, Chinese shoppers that spend AED 1,000 have the chance to win AED 5,000 daily.
