Dubai, UAE (September 11, 2013) – Celebrating the 10th anniversary of its founding in true style, renowned Swiss luxury watch brand DeWitt, presents watch lovers three superbly crafted models in its new exciting Twenty-8-Eight collection: Twenty-8-Eight Automatic, Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon and the Twenty-8-Eight Regulator A.S.W. Horizons.
It flaunts a 46mm 18k white gold round case adorned with DeWitt's imperial columns pattern on the flanks and a 18k gold crown highlighted by a blackened titanium ring featuring the signature ‘W'. Its dial is a tinted sapphire with chocolate-brown tonalities featuring central appllique and printed numerals in 5N colour. It has water resistance of 30m. It is matched by a semi-matt, dark brown alligator strap.
Stamped with classic good looks, the Twenty-8-Eight Automatic has a 43 mm round 10.28mm case crafted in 18k white or rose gold and a two-zone guilloche dial. It houses a self-winding movement with 28'800 A/h.
The Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon on the other hand enshrines the DeWitt calibre DW8028, a manually wound movement integrating a solid and reliable Tourbillon mechanism. It is powered by a mechanical movement with patented Automatic Sequential Winding (A.S.W) device driven by peripheral oscillating rotor, while the dead-beat second is directly connected to the Tourbillon cage. The movement is equipped with a Swiss anchor escapement with a variable-inertia balance and a spiral with Breguet curve sequenced at 2.5 Hz and oscillates at 18'000 A/h. It has a power reserve of 72 hours.
The new Twenty-8-Eight Regulator A.S.W. Horizons is home to the famous calibre DW 8014. This new automatic Tourbillon is the first complicated regulator movement integrating a Tourbillon entirely developed and produced by the DeWitt Manufacture. Most importantly, it introduces a patented and extremely ingenious Automatic Sequential Winding (A.S.W) device, driven by a peripheral oscillating rotor.
One of the most promising young Swiss watch brands which has already established its credentials, DeWitt's collections are the perfect blend of technical prowess and admirable good looks. One of its most unique features is that each timepiece is painstakingly assembled by a single watchmaker as the outcome of passion for perfection and an abiding regard for centuries-old expertise.
DeWitt's dynamic range of models in its new Twenty–8– Eight collection is now available at Istana stores in Dubai Mall and BurJuman in Dubai.
ABOUT DEWITT:In 2003, Jérôme de Witt decided to create DeWitt, a brand which would reflect his vision of watchmaking and present the most elaborate complications while respecting the best watchmaker'straditions. The same year the daring brand launched its exceptional Pressy Grande Complication. In 2005 it was awarded the First Prize for Innovation at the Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie de Genève for its Academia Tourbillon Différentiel with a Tourbillon mechanism and a patented differential system, positioning it at the top of the Haute Horlogerie ladder. Rapid expansion saw DeWitt move from its first workshop in Vandoeuvres to the actual 5000 squ/m building in Geneva/Meyrin in 2007, housing all the traditional watchmaking activities, from design right through to production and quality control with a dedicated R & D department. It is currently one of the only remaining brands to continue exercising the refined art of guilloché engraving on historical 18th and 19th century rose engines. The highest level of perfection can only be achieved by giving each master watchmaker the time to truly engage with his work. For this reason, each remarkable DeWitt timepiece is assembled by a single watchmaker. The acclaimed brand is available across the world and it has 75 Point of Sales.
