Materials Handling Middle East 2013 Set For Successful Start

Materials Handling Middle East 2013 opens doors today (Tuesday, September 10th), with the focus of the materials handling, warehousing, freight, cargo and supply chain industries firmly on this lucrative and growing region.
Showcasing the largest ever international congregation of the materials handling, supply chain and warehousing industries in the region, the exhibition will be the largest yet in its seven-year history. Expected to flag off 25% larger than the previous year, the exhibition's and conference's remarkable growth underlines the growing importance of the region's markets on the international radar.
A vast range of the latest trends, developments, products and solutions will be vying for the attention of the largest gathering of trade buyers, professionals, senior representatives from the public & private sectors, wholesalers & retailers, port & transport operators as well as warehouse & storage providers working within the materials handling and supply chain sectors.
Exhibitors have also lined up a series of product launches aimed at buyers from across the wider region. These include some of the latest developments in materials handling systems and streamlined storage systems. Exhibitors will also be demonstrating how innovation and new technology is transforming the way the industry works.

With the aim of gaining at least a 10% share of the regional market GENAVCO are showcasing the latest range of racking and shelving products from Belgium's STOW. Isam Abu Nawah, President of GENAVCO said: "Through our partnership with STOW, we now have access to an extensive portfolio of racking and shelving products allowing us to offer more comprehensive storage and handling solutions to our customers. Catering to our clientele's needs in the past has allowed us to grow as a trusted name in the field, and this development will further reinforce our stronghold on the market."
Seegrid from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, are rolling out their flexible AGVs or robotic industrial trucks, including vision-guided pallet trucks and tow tractors. According to Anthony Horbal, Chief Executive Officer for Seegrid, said: “The company is growing rapidly around the world. We recognize the value of the material handling market in the Middle East and are delighted to be exhibiting at this very important event. We know driverless vehicles will allow manufacturing and warehousing facilities throughout MENA to experience the automation benefits Seegrid flexible AGVs provide.”
Regional heavyweights Galadari will present a range of new 4ton, 5ton diesel warehouse trucks. The 4-ton class engine powered forklift truck, FH series FH40/45/50-1, is Komatsu's first forklift truck installed with electronic controlled HST (Hydrostatic Transmission) and variable pump CLSS (closed-center load sensing system).
Materials Handling Middle East 2013 is the seventh edition of the exhibition and will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 10th to 12th. The four major product areas are: Materials Handling & Lifting Equipment; Logistics and Postal Services Providers; Value added Logistics Services and Warehousing Equipment.
