In Participation with Prominent Ministers and Officials, Sharjah Media Centre hosts its Annual Ramadan Majlis

Sharjah Media Centre-Sharjah: July 10, 2013 - Sharjah Media Centre, the media and communications arm of the Government of Sharjah, has revealed its second Ramadan Majlis activities, commencing on July 14. The Majlis will host ministers and key officials, poets, athletes and artists from the United Arab Emirates and the Arab world, to discuss various social, cultural and artistic topics.
Sharjah Media Centre's Ramadan Majlis will be held in the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, through focused seminars that address a number of topics including media, culture, arts and sports, in addition to poetry reciting nights, and important social discussions, which are in parallel to the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadan.
The discussions held at the Ramadan Majlis, under the slogan “Our Majlis is special during the holy month”..will include topics revolving around the Arabic drama, the obstacles it faces as well as Arabic poetry and local sports issues.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre, reiterated the centre's commitment in organizing the Ramadan Majlis to highlight crucial intellectual and cultural issues, especially by hosting key figures including ministers, government officials, renowned personalities and specialists.
The Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre elaborated on the importance of the Ramadan Majlis in reinforcing Ramadan-related media communication, and in bridging the gap between the public and government and government officials, while celebrating Ramadan's evenings in a manner which produces societal and intellectual benefits.
The Sharjah Media Centre's Ramadan Majlis will host the Minister of Social Affairs, Mariam Al Roumi, Minister of Education, Hameed Al Qatami, former Syrian Minister of Culture, Riyad Naasan Agha, Chairman of Sharjah Educational Association and member of the Executive Counsel of Sharjah, Dr. Abdullah Al Suwaji, renowned media personality, Hamdi Kandeel, and Director of Sharjah Radio, Mohammad Khalaf.
The Majils will also host celebrated Arab actors such as, Nour Al Shereef from Egypt, Jamal Slaiman from Syria, Ismail Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Theatrical Association, UAE. The evenings will also feature Sameera Ahmad, renowned Emarati actress celebrity Kuwaiti actors Khalid Al Abeed and Mohammad Al Mansour, Lebanese media personality and poet Zahi Wahbi, Kuwaiti poet Hamed Zaid and media personality and poet Parween Habib.
Furthermore, a special session will be held during the Majlis to discuss sports in Sharjah. Participating in the discussion will be former international athlete Khalil Ghanim, Deputy Managing Editor of Al Bayan newspaper Mohammad Al Jokar, Executive Director of Policies and legislations Division at Dubai Customs,Yousef Hussain and member of the Sharjah Consultative Council, Adnan Hamad.
