Dubai, UAE, 17 August 2026: Dubai Police has revealed the results of a youth empowerment model that places young professionals at the heart of innovation, leadership and institutional development.

With 10,901 young men and women working across policing, security, technology and specialised fields, Dubai Police has created a workplace where emerging talent is encouraged to contribute ideas, lead projects and help shape the organisation's future.

Between 2020 and 2025, young employees submitted 233,297 ideas, of which 56,356 were implemented. Their contributions also resulted in 11 registered patents and 1,331 intellectual works, while 1,305 young professionals were recognised for their pioneering ideas.

The figures were highlighted during an open dialogue between His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and more than 230 young employees. Organised by the Dubai Police Youth Leadership Council, the session formed part of World Youth Week and coincided with International Youth Day.

The dialogue gave participants an opportunity to discuss their ambitions, professional challenges and ideas directly with the Commander-in-Chief. Lieutenant General Al Marri also shared lessons from his career and outlined the qualities required to lead in a rapidly evolving policing environment.

"We are fortunate to have you. You possess the capabilities, expertise and specialised knowledge that enable us to excel locally and internationally. You are our greatest asset, and we want you to help take Dubai Police to the highest levels."

Turning ideas into action

Dubai Police's approach is built on transforming employee ideas into practical action. Young professionals are given opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary teams, lead institutional projects and contribute to initiatives involving artificial intelligence, sustainability, data analysis and community engagement.

Between 2022 and 2025, young employees led 15 institutional projects. They also recorded 211 participations in local and international awards between 2021 and 2025, reflecting their growing presence on professional platforms within the UAE and internationally.

This culture of participation has developed steadily since the Dubai Police Youth Leadership Council was established in 2017. When young employees were initially asked to present a limited number of practical proposals, they exceeded expectations by submitting more than 180 ideas and projects in only three days.

Since then, Dubai Police has continued to expand their involvement across operations and development programmes, assessing promising ideas according to their potential impact rather than the age or rank of the person presenting them.

Lieutenant General Al Marri encouraged young employees to bring forward every idea they believe can be implemented and begin developing it without allowing challenges to discourage them.

He also urged them to strengthen their capabilities in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, remain open to change and participate actively in collaborative teams.

Young women leading technical change

The results also reflect the expanding contribution of young women in technical and leadership roles.

During the session, Dubai Police highlighted the experience of Lieutenant Engineer Maryam Rashid from the General Department of Logistics Support. Since 2019, she has led a renewable energy project aimed at improving energy efficiency across Dubai Police buildings. Following the successful completion of its first phase, the project has progressed to a second stage.

Lieutenant General Al Marri stressed that Dubai Police supports individuals capable of creating meaningful change, regardless of their position within the organisation.

By combining access to senior leadership, opportunities to manage projects, recognition for innovative thinking and exposure to emerging technologies, Dubai Police is developing a new generation of professionals equipped to respond to the evolving demands of modern policing.

The model demonstrates how empowering young talent can generate measurable institutional value while building the leadership, technological capabilities and innovative thinking required for the future of public safety.
