Strong turnout from Emiratis across all seven emirates reflects growing interest in the aviation industry and flydubai’s specialised training and development programmes
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 18 August 2026: flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, welcomed more than 500 UAE nationals across all seven emirates to its UAE National Careers Open Day. Held at the flydubai Campus in Dubai, the high attendance reflected strong interest in the diverse career opportunities available across the growing airline.
The event brought together aspiring Emirati students, graduates and professionals keen to learn more about careers in aviation, as well as the specialised training and development programmes available at flydubai.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet flydubai’s recruitment and talent development teams and explore a wide range of career pathways, including the Engineering Apprentice Programme (AMEL), Flight Dispatcher Programme, Pilot Training Programmes, including the Ab Initio and Second Officer programmes, UAE National Graduate Programmes, as well as other opportunities across the airline’s operational and corporate functions.
The high turnout reflects the growing interest among UAE nationals in building long-term careers in aviation and supporting the continued development of one of the UAE’s most important and dynamic industries.
Commenting on the event, Nasser Binkherbash, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at flydubai, said: “We were very pleased with the strong attendance and positive feedback we received at our UAE National Careers Open Day. Welcoming more than 500 Emiratis from all seven emirates who are interested in exploring a career with flydubai demonstrates the enthusiasm and ambition of our national talent and their interest in being part of the future of aviation in the UAE.
Developing our national workforce remains a priority as flydubai continues to grow, and we are committed to creating meaningful career pathways, supported by structured training and development programmes, that enable UAE nationals to build successful long-term careers across our organisation. We look forward to welcoming more Emirati talent to flydubai and seeing them play an increasingly important role in supporting our future growth.”
As flydubai continues to expand its fleet, network and operations, the carrier is investing significantly in its inhouse capabilities and in building a strong pipeline of skilled national talent. These investments are creating long-term career opportunities across flight operations, engineering and maintenance, airport operations, commercial, technology, finance, human resources and other business functions.
flydubai currently operates a fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft and has more than 300 aircraft on order for delivery over the next decade. The airline employs nearly 7,000 people, including around 2,000 pilots and engineers, and its continued expansion will create thousands of additional career opportunities throughout the organisation.
The UAE National Careers Open Day forms part of flydubai’s broader commitment to supporting the UAE’s national workforce agenda and developing the next generation of Emirati aviation professionals through specialised training, mentorship and long-term career development opportunities.
