A Dream Come True as Kazakhstani Tourist Wins New Dubai Home

Shyngyskhan Rysbek becomes the second winner of a studio apartment as part of the citywide 'Win Your Home in Dubai' initiative

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 01 July 2026: A Kazakhstani visitor to Dubai has spoken of his happiness after winning a brand-new studio apartment in the citywide 'Win Your Home in Dubai' initiative.

Shyngyskhan Rysbek, a 33-year-old photographer, became the second winner of the competition and was honoured during a ceremony held at Dubai Festival City Mall in front of hundreds of shoppers after flying in with his family for the occasion.  The 'Win Your Home in Dubai' initiative, jointly led by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), a part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and Dubai Chambers, offers shoppers an opportunity to win one of 12 Binghatti Developers' residential units across Dubai.

The prize capped a memorable experience for Rysbek, who was visiting Dubai in early June with his family, and only decided to enter the draw on the last day of their vacation.

He said: "After registering for the campaign, we were on our way to the airport when I looked at my

wife and noticed tears in her eyes. She looked at me and said she really didn't want to leave, then asked: 'will we come back?'. I smiled and replied, 'Of course we will'. At that moment, neither of us could have imagined that about a week later we would already be flying back to Dubai – this time to receive the keys to our own apartment."

He added: "Winning an apartment in Dubai means much more to me than simply owning a property. Above all, it is an incredible blessing for our family and a moment we will remember for the rest of our lives. This prize has brought us not only happiness, but also the feeling that truly amazing things can happen in life."

The next weekly draws will take place on 5, 12, 19 and 26 July; and 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 August, hosted at Dubai Festival City Mall. The next nine draws will each award one studio apartment, while the final draw on 30 August will award the grand prize of a two-bedroom apartment.

The 'Win Your Home in Dubai' initiative runs until 30 August. Eligible residents and visitors aged 18 and above can still win an apartment by simply spending AED 500 at any of the 1,000+ participating brands across more than 3,500 retail outlets in Dubai. To validate their entry, shoppers then scan the QR code on official campaign materials at participating locations and upload their receipt.
