Dubai, UAE, May 19, 2026: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library hosted the third session of its Conscious Parenting series, "Childhood Without Emotional Restrictions". Presented by trainer Jocelyne Chidiac, the session was attended by individuals interested in education, mental health, and family development.
The session highlighted the importance of creating a safe environment for children and adolescents, based on understanding emotions and expressing them in a healthy and balanced manner. This, in turn, enhances mental well-being and contributes to developing more self-aware personalities capable of handling everyday challenges.
Chidiac addressed several topics related to emotional awareness among children and adolescents, explaining that emotional freedom means empowering children to express their feelings freely and safely, while maintaining behavioural boundaries and responsibility.
Chidiac also reviewed the effects of emotional suppression, including anxiety, withdrawal, and aggressive behaviour among adolescents. She emphasised the importance of using precise language when expressing emotions, as well as the role of parents and teachers in fostering emotional regulation through calm dialogue and psychologically safe support.
The session also addressed the challenges adolescents face in the digital age, including the pressures of social comparison and the psychological effects of digital environments. It highlighted the importance of developing digital awareness and protecting children's psychological balance.
With notable interaction from attendees through discussions and questions, the session explored modern parenting methods and ways to emotionally support children and adolescents at different stages of development.
Conscious Parenting series is part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library's educational programs that promote family and mental awareness, with the help of leading specialists and experts in education, human development, and mental health.
