Moon-Phase, Reimagined: The Oris Artelier Complication

Dubai, UAE, April 2026: Oris introduces the new Artelier Complication, an urban dress watch that reinterprets for a new generation, one of watchmaking’s most poetic expressions: the moon phase. For centuries, watchmakers have sought to capture the Moon’s quiet 29.5-day rhythm in mechanical form, a fascination that continues here as a silvered moon glides across a starry sky at 12 o’clock, offering a moment of reflection within the pace of everyday time.

Housed in a 39.5 mm stainless steel case, the Artelier Complication has been reimagined with a clean, modern profile, where clarity and detail work in harmony. The dial is available in ivory, midnight blue, and chestnut, each featuring a refined three-zone construction with a textured centre, a smooth outer rim, and two sub-counters for its signature complications. On the chestnut version, darker counters enhance legibility and depth. The design is completed with an elegantly domed sapphire crystal, tapered indices, square-tipped hour and minute hands, and a new contemporary sans serif font for the words “Artelier” and “Swiss Made,” reinforcing the watch’s understated, modern character.

At its core, the Artelier Complication is powered by the new Oris Calibre 782 automatic movement, building on the proven architecture of the Calibre 781 but simplified to focus on its two signature functions: the moon phase at 12 o’clock and a second 24-hour time zone at 6 o’clock. By removing additional dial indications found in previous versions, the Artelier creates a balanced, uncluttered display, while adjustments can be made seamlessly via the crown and a single integrated pusher.

Part of a wider redesign led by 24-year-old Product Design Engineer Lena Huwiler, the Artelier Complication reflects a confident shift towards simplicity and modernity, a deliberately modern expression of mechanical watchmaking that reimagines two classic functions for a youthful, urbane audience.
