Modena, 24 July 2024 – After 16 races around the world, Season 10 of the Formula E Championship came to a close on Sunday 21 July in London. Maserati MSG Racing finished eighth in the Constructors' standings. Team drivers Maximilian Günther, in his second season with the Monégasque team, and Jehan Daruvala, a new entrant this year, took eighth and twenty-first place respectively in the Drivers' standings.
The 2024 season started with excellent momentum for Maserati MSG Racing, for which Max Günther took victory in round 5, held in Tokyo, immediately followed by a third place podium finish at Misano, Maserati's home race.As the season passed, the German driver also raked in nine top ten finishes, maintaining his steadfast fight for top positions throughout the championship.
Teammate Jehan Daruvala, the only rookie on the grid this year, gained more confidence from one race to the next, achieving his first top 10 in round 2 at Misano, and secured his place in the battle for mid-table in the qualifiers and in every round.
During Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Maserati MSG Racing also had to deal with more challenging moments, but the team and drivers never lost sight of their goal and focus, partly thanks to a car that proved a match for the competition in the season, from beginning to end.
Maserati selected the 100% electric series in 2023 as part of its racing strategy, focused on the brand's return to competition, keeping alive its strong heritage in the world of motorsport – the Trident was founded on the track and, over the course of its 110-year history, has written glorious chapters in the top categories and in the most iconic races.
As a brand strongly devoted to performance, Maserati, in its new era of electrification, has decided to become a leading name in the most innovative series in the current motorsport landscape and to stand out on several fronts in the mobility of the future.
Its participation in the Formula E World Championship is a unique opportunity to make the most of the know-how and the on-track development of advanced technologies that can later be applied to mass production, especially now that Maserati has the ability to offer its customers a panoply of full-electric cars with the Folgore range.
Giovanni Sgro, Head of Maserati Corse: “This second season has been full of excitement, and we've learned a lot: there was no shortage of positive moments and celebrations for the podiums in Tokyo and Misano, as well as the more demanding ones, but our concentration never failed us. Our debut year was focused on getting to grips with and fitting into a new context for Maserati in the best possible way: racing with 100% electric single-seaters. Season 10 enabled us to get to the heart of the series, including by ensuring our reading of the races was more comprehensive. This year, we were determined to carve out a place among the leading names in the battle for the top spots and the challenge between the best teams has never been lacking. Both our drivers, and the entire team, have demonstrated their tenacity and constant commitment: I’d like to thank everyone for everything they've done this season. Formula E continues to be an essential platform for Maserati in the development of our production cars, and at the same time keeps alive the brand's overwhelming passion for the racing world. Now’s the time to take stock and catch our breath ahead of next year.”
