Dubai – January 04, 2022: Crayon Data, a global leader in Big Data and AI services, was honoured at the 28th edition of the Enterprise 50 (E50) Awards as one of the 50 most successful companies based in Singapore in the past year. The event was graced by guest-of-honour Low Yen Ling, Minister of State for Trade and Industry.
The E50 Awards is jointly organised by The Business Times and KPMG in Singapore and sponsored by OCBC Bank. The awards have recognised more than 700 companies across key business sectors in Singapore since it was established in 1995.
The theme of the E50 Awards 2022 was, “Ready, Reset, Grow”. They spotlighted companies that were able to reset their strategies, harness new technologies to transform their business or pivot to a new business model to stay relevant despite the pandemic.
Commenting on the recognition of Crayon’s standout performance in 2022, founder and CEO Mr. Suresh Shankar said, “Over the last five years, we have built a business model - based on sustainability, profitability, and capital efficiency - that wins in the real world. We are honoured to be one amongst 15 tech companies in Singapore to receive the E50 awards.”
While headquartered in Singapore, Crayon has strong roots in the Middle East. It is a key market, contributing to a major share in our revenue. Clients include the largest banking group in the region, a major global card issuer, leading digital innovations bank, and more. The company has also observed major growth in its operations in the past year, expanding its footprint in the UAE. The GCC team is headquartered in Dubai, from where they serve clients in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the rest of the Middle East.
“Working with firms across the Middle East has given Crayon deep insights into how much they value stability,” Mr Shankar added. There is an emphasis on safety, and firms prioritize preparedness and business continuity. However, he said, “They shouldn’t lose sight of the big picture. The focus for Middle East is now not just to build, but to scale up their digital transformation aspects.”
2023 will be the year where tech and digital investments will be put to the test. Industry studies reveal that digital transformation investments in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META) are set to more than double across the 2021–2026 period. Crayon Data works across banking, finance, travel, and other verticals where the primary focus is on creating engaging customer experiences that drive revenue acceleration. While ensuring clear and measurable outcomes for the business.
