Abu Dhabi, UAE, December 15, 2022: This Arab Language Day and within its alfresco Park Market, Umm Al Emarat Park is hosting a line-up of creative initiatives to commemorate the contribution of the Arabic language to human civilization and culture.
Visitors can enjoy puppet shows and hakawati storytelling shows by Bait Al Arabi and avid readers will also have the opportunity to buy from a collection of Arabic books that will also be on display by Bait Al Arabi.
Those looking for a creative outlet can participate in three calligraphy workshops provided by Medusa Foundation, where participants can learn how to write Arabic calligraphy on different material like paper or cloth and on wood using the Wood Burning Art, in addition to hand crafts that are dedicated to draw and sew Arabic letters. Kaza Design will also be providing a calligraphy workshop that would teach participants how to write on bags, scarfs and t-shirts.
Little ones can also participate in Arabic quizzes that will be taking place at the Park’s Great Lawn, where five lucky winners will be named each day and get the chance to win fun prizes.
Umm Al Emarat Park is a meeting place that builds on the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan and his vision of preserving the United Arab Emirates’ cultural history which extends to the Arabic language and the intellectual legacy it carries.
