Speaking on International Nurses Day, which is observed worldwide on May 12th, Al Olama stated, "Celebrating such an international occasion is nothing more than a token of gratitude and appreciation for the incredible sacrifices made by the nursing staff and a global recognition of their dedication to improving the health of societies."
It is also an acknowledgement of the importance of nurses, who have become a fundamental pillar of all healthcare systems, playing a vital role in supporting comprehensive health coverage, said Al Olama, adding that the UAE's celebration of this occasion comes at a time when the country is making strenuous efforts to strengthen and empower nursing cadres.
"The UAE has established clear strategic goals to improve the vital status of the nursing profession within national health policies and spares no effort to anticipate the future of nursing and invest sustainably in health cadres," Al Olama maintained.
He reiterated that the Ministry of Health and Prevention is committed to strengthening the nursing profession and has launched several programs to attract and retain qualified and specialized nursing cadres, and improve their professional level to provide the best level of health care services.
