Sharjah, November 9, 2021
Sharjah Child Friendly Office (SCFO), an affiliate of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), has launched a campaign themed ‘Vote for Sharjah, Vote for UAE’ as part of their participation at the ongoing 40th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), in Expo Centre Sharjah.
The campaign is aimed at encouraging UAE residents to vote for Sharjah, as the emirate has entered the running for UNICEF Child Friendly Cities and Local Governments Inspire Awards 2021. SCFO’s Sharjah Child Friendly Project has been nominated for the prestigious global award in the Child Friendly Governance category. The award’s winners will be selected based on public voting.
SCFO has urged all citizens and residents, including men, women, youth, children and the differently abled, in the UAE as well as abroad, to vote for Sharjah.
Residents can vote by clicking on the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HVXK65Y, or scan the QR code on SCFO’s social media platforms @sharjahchildfriendly. Other ways to support the campaign would be by voting on the SCFO website www.sharjahchildfriendlyoffice.ae, or by visiting SCFO booth at SIBF 2021 at L8, halls 5 and 6.
Voting ends on November 14, 2021.
SCFO is also organising activities to encourage individuals and entities to share information on the ‘Vote for Sharjah, Vote for UAE’ campaign, and attract the participation of the public of all age groups, nationalities and cultures.
UNICEF’s Child Friendly Cities and Local Governments Inspire Award is the world’s most prestigious award that honours innovative initiatives in six categories. The UAE participated in the inaugural edition in 2019, with Sharjah Baby Friendly Project supporting breastfeeding winning the award in the Child Friendly Social Services category.
