DHA Opens Registration for Dubai Residency Training Program

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 6, 2021: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has opened up registrations for the Dubai Residency Training Program (DRTP) that offers 16 accredited training programs across various medical specialties.
The robust and comprehensive program ensures Emiratis and residents in the country have an opportunity to specialize in key medical fields.
Dr. Wadeia Mohammad Sharief, Director of the Medical Education and Research Department at the Dubai Health Authority highlighted that the program aims to strengthen and foster medical education within the Emirate. She said, “Medical education, continuous learning opportunities and research are key areas of priority at the DHA to ensure continued excellence in manpower in the medical field as well as to advance research and development in medicine in Dubai.”
Dr Sharief said that so far the department has received 436 applications for this program. Registration will be accepted until 16 May through the DHA’s website www.dha.gov.ae. .
The Dubai Residency Training Program has 16 accredited training programs, which are Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Urology, Dermatology, Anesthesia, ENT, Family Medicine, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic & Trauma Surgery and Radiology.
The program is a scientific and practical training program for doctors that usually begins after the doctor completes his internship year. The criteria to join the internship program includes but is not limited to: a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery or its equivalent( within the last two years), a valid passport and Emirates ID, valid residence visa for non- citizens and attested bachelor’s degree and transcript
