15 Years of Effective and Fruitful Initiatives in the Emirati Community “Information City” Continues Its Battle to Fight the COVID-19 Pandemic

Dubai, September 27, 2020: “Information City”, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, with its strategic partner MTN and the support of the elite of local and international institutions, have not stopped its humanitarian and social journey in fighting the global Covid-19 pandemic, as it emphasized through its distinguished initiative on focusing its humanitarian image and vital role in protecting the society and maintaining its safety in general.
With a honorable history and a long experience in introducing exceptional events and initiatives, Information City continues its humanitarian journey to embody the greatest meanings of unlimited compassion and generosity, and to place the Emirate of Dubai ahead of others in terms of community service and upgrading the level of health, knowledge and community awareness to address diseases and epidemics.
In this regard, Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum says: “Humanitarian, social and health work has always been our primary goal and the focus of our attention to push the Emirati community to the front.”
“Our latest activities in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, is to provide 500,000 face masks and face shield in cooperation with our strategic partner (Dubai Ports World - UAE Region) and a number of governmental and humanitarian institutions and agencies operating in the United Arab Emirates. We could provide 100,000 sterilizing materials as well, in cooperation with Unilever and a number of other companies."
"There is no doubt that our response to the Covid-19 epidemic taught us to be more persistent and strong to face all challenges and win the battle over them. Our honorable history and long journey confirm our achievements, excellence and credibility, and have won the confidence of all private and public sectors in cooperation with a number of institutions, departments, government agencies and charities. Since our inception in 2005, we have devoted our activities and tasks to offering basic initiatives and assistance to promote the individual, family and society in general. We will continue our journey to implement more social, awareness, educational and health projects,” he added.
For fifteen years, the Information City has provided many community initiatives, and among the most important initiatives it has provided over many years are: “Saada” 2017-2018-2019-2020, which provided 1000 school bags with school stationary, paying a percentage of school fees for 250 students, and 1000 new laptops. "Educate a child ... Build a Nation" from 2012 to 2016, during which more than 5,000 students were trained, and more than 5,000 laptops were gifted to the trainees. Under Saada initiative, The Information City established “Protect Yourself ... Protect a Homeland” concept, which is praised by senior officials and governmental and semi-governmental bodies, and could win the attention of a large number of institutions, charities, and local and international sponsoring companies.
