The Aloria Collection
In creating the Aloria collection, the industry-leading, all-female design team at Garrard have breathed new life into the motif at the heart of one of the House’s most legendary royal commissions – the setting of the most precious diamond of all time, the Cullinan I.
Artfully uniting heritage cues with cutting-edge craftsmanship and design, Aloria celebrates Garrard’s setting of the Cullinan I – the world’s largest cut and colourless diamond – in the Sovereign’s Sceptre in 1910. The strong silhouette has been reimagined in the motif and a powerful sense of strength, spirit and unity sit at the heart of the new designs.
Garrard’s signature goldwork has been elevated to new three-dimensional levels and, skilfully faceted, it shimmers across rings, bracelets and earrings. The bold silhouette is also available embellished with diamonds that sit gently at an angle alongside calibré-cut coloured gemstones. Necklaces are available in adjustable lengths, and bracelets and earrings have interchangeable coloured motifs, to suit the occasion, outfit or mood of the wearer.
The Wings Embrace Collection
As the name suggests the collection features delicate wings, available across earrings, rings, pendants and bracelets. The motif has an added resonance through its associations with peace, purity and protection.
Calibré cut pink and yellow sapphires, aquamarines and perfectly white diamonds, create a seamless shimmer of light, inspired by the iridescent colours cast as light passes through crystal. The setting of each stone is just as beautiful, their pale tones, perfectly matched with white, rose or yellow gold. The overall effect is subtle and delicate, adding grace to the angel wings motif while balancing their bold silhouette, resulting in a look that is modern and contemporary
The collection’s ear climbers make a bold statement, their shape and style drawing attention to the face. Alternatively for a more everyday look, there is a delicate pendant resting on a simple chain. Each collection piece has a richness of symbolism that has made Wings much loved and the perfect jewellery pieces to gift on those special occasions.
The Albemarle Collection
At her wedding in 1893, Queen Mary was presented with a beautiful tiara by the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland. The tiara was bought with donations from women around the country and given to the Queen, who described it as one of her ‘most valued gifts’. Many years later in 1947, she passed the piece to her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding gift.
Set around the tiara’s base is a graceful arrangement of round and lozenge-shaped diamonds, which are at the very heart of the inspiration for the Albemarle collection. This iconic motif has been interpreted into a timeless array of jewels, acknowledging the House’s illustrious and romantic history. The collection comprises earrings, rings, necklaces, bangles and brooches, available in different iterations and set with the finest diamonds and gemstones.
Albemarle is also the name of the street on which Garrard’s flagship London boutique is located. The building itself – where jewellery continues to be designed and crafted – has witnessed many moments of note, including the creation of Queen Mary’s consort crown in 1911.
The Enchanted Palace Collection
Garrard’s Enchanted Palace collection draws inspiration from the Great Exhibition. Held in a purpose built space, Crystal Palace in 1851 by Queen Victoria and her beloved husband Prince Albert, it was the very first of its kind in Great Britain.
The exhibition itself was a treasure trove of Victorian design and innovation, with many of Garrard’s most playful and technically complex creations presented. Jewellery pieces featured rich blue sapphires, diamonds and turquoise, set within extraordinary designs, including fly-inspired brooches. These brooches were extremely popular with the Queen and the Victorian people during this time – and symbolised humility.
The collection created by Garrard is inspired by the jewels on display at the Great Exhibition and the striking architectural design of the Palace itself, which included a total of 800,000 glass windows. From miniature fly-inspired jewellery pieces in turquoise with delicate diamond encrusted wings, to spinning jewels that reveal diamonds or sapphires with each twist, rock crystal windows studded with diamonds and transformable pendants and earrings with removable tassels and drops – this diverse collection is designed to inspire and delight.
Garrard High Jewellery Suites
Every jewel starts with a spark of inspiration, whether from a beautiful collection of stones or the details of a historic British garden. The idea for Garrard’s high jewellery takes shape on paper and in the lines of pen and the sweep of paint. As details evolve, the design becomes real, handcrafted by the House Studio and made into a suite of jewellery, a tiara, brooch or necklace. Every finished piece of high jewellery showcases design, craftsmanship and stone, to join the ever-evolving story of the House of Garrard.
