British Orchard Nursery runs a month-long drive gifting foodstuff and other essentials to construction workers, drivers and cleaners among others in the UAE
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, May 06, 2020: Keeping up the spirit of giving alive in the holy month of Ramadan, British Orchard Nursery is running a month-long charity drive and has already reached out to hundreds of people in the UAE with Ramadan packages. The packages – comprising long-shelf food products, fresh produce and other household essentials – have been gifted to workers at construction sites, drivers, cleaners, as well the staff in the British Orchard Nursery.
The drive, which will run until the end of the month across Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, will continue to identify and serve people and groups that need assistance.
“This Ramadan is different from the ones we have observed before, and for many amongst us it has been quite a tough journey so far. As privileged members of society, it is our duty and responsibility to be sensitive to this fact and contribute generously towards easing the situation for the less privileged amongst us. This Ramadan charity drive is our attempt to help our friends-in-need by taking the essentials to their doorstep and to bring smiles on their faces,” said Dr Vandana Gandhi, Founder and CEO of British Orchard Nursery.
“Every year, the children at British Orchard Nursery learn practical lessons of generosity, kindness and welfare of other human beings through the preschool’s Ramadan campaign. We did not want to break this chain, and this year our teachers, assistant teachers and other staff stepped up to carry on the beautiful work,” added Dr Gandhi.
British Orchard Nursery supports orphanages, old age homes, animal shelters, charitable causes and provides education support to the needy. The Nursery’s employees also give back to the community by volunteering their time, participating in events such as the Walk for Education and Walk for Autism, among other initiatives.
