New recycling programme introduced in Dubai stores
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 28, 2020: With Global Recycling Day approaching in March, it’s a great time to take a step back and look at your relationship with the environment around you. As part of this worldwide event, American Eagle introduces the initiative of recycling jeans for the first time in the Middle East across their stores in Dubai, UAE.
Think about what you do in your daily life to reduce your carbon footprint? How do all the little things add up to make a big impact? What else can you do?
American Eagle has come up with something simple and trouble-free where all you need to do is get rid of your old jeans. Just grab that unused pair that’s been taking up precious closet space for years. Whatever they are, wherever you got them from, American Eagle wants them. We’ll even give you AED60 off a pair of brand-new AE jeans for doing your bit for the environment.
Simply bring your old jeans (they don’t have to be AE, we’ll take any brand!) to your local AE store in Dubai and we’ll recycle them to be used for industrial use or remanufactured into new fabric. Since denim is made mostly from cotton, a sustainable fiber, it can be recycled. This means all those old jeans can be diverted from landfills and upcycled into new fabrics. (Participating American Eagle stores: The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdiff, Deira City Center & Ibn Batutta.)
