Ajman-UAE: September 07, 2019 – Students of Mass Communication at Ajman University (AU) have shined in an international tourism competition, and won a trip to Thailand.
The contest is part of the cultural and academic ‘Thailand Academy’ program initiated by the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Dubai, and Tourism Authority of Thailand Middle East, Dubai, to promote UAE students’ awareness about sustainable tourism in Thailand.
The seven-day trip included an array of cultural and academic activities which made the students familiar with the sustainable lifestyle of the Thai people living in these islands.
The participants shared the experiences and knowledge they gained from this fun-filled exciting trip with their friends and families on social media.
Four students from the College of Mass Communication, AU, have made it, and won the competition under the supervision and guidance of Dr Alya Anter and Dr Nidal Al Said.
The students were asked to produce a one-minute video that reflects their passion to visit Trat island, a popular sustainable tourist destination of over 50 islands in Thailand, and learn about its culture and people lifestyle.
Participants were also asked to write an essay on how they are planning to cascade and promote their travel experience to others.
The trip included a visit to Trat coastal island which is part of Koh Mak island known for little carbon emissions, and Koh Chang island, leave alone Bangkok the capital.
AU students, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand Middle East, Dubai, produced spectacular videos on that carbon-emission-free hub that adopts the concept of efficient use of energy and water.
The students were so thrilled to win the trip and managed to make some new friends with the Thai people there, adding to their experience, independence, and self-confidence.
