Dubai, UAE, 4 August 2019:   Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, organised various training courses for its employees during the period January to July 2019. These courses were conducted as part of its annual training and development agenda, and benefitted to more than 200 employees in its workforce. 

The training courses and programs represent a major part of Empower's annual strategy to raise the performance level of its staff to the highest international standards and to motivate them to continue gaining more knowledge and skills in district cooling.

The employee training workshops included various technical, safety and soft skill courses such as; supervisory skills, communication skills, data analytics, Oracle database security, parallel working environment system design, fire safety fundamentals and usage of fire extinguishers, district cooling for designers and owners, as well as maintenance and troubleshooting.

“We give high importance for the training and development of our employees professionally, especially our Emirati staff, with an annual agenda aimed at enhancing their performance level and productivity. Our employees are the real capital of our organisation; they are our local and global ambassadors, and are the major driving force for the development of Dubai's district cooling industry,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

Bin Shafar stressed that Empower focuses on developing Emirati talents by providing a creative work environment that stimulates creativity among employees. This supports our belief in the National Agenda 2021, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Moreover, Empower supports various sustainability strategies, notably the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, which seeks to increase the contribution of clean energy in the total energy mix to 50%, the National Climate Change Plan 2017-2050, and the long-term national initiative to build a green economy in the UAE under the slogan ‘A green economy for sustainable development’, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which lead the UAE to become pioneer in the field of the new green economy globally,” concluded Bin Shafar.

Empower provides district cooling services to more than 1,090 buildings, catering to more than 100,000 customers.
