Dubai, UAE, 11 June 2018: Emirates Aviation University (EAU) has announced that it will be awarding ‘top achiever’ scholarships to high school students applying to its undergraduate business and engineering programmes. A total of 50 scholarship awards will be presented to students, based on merit rather than their financial circumstances.
The scholarship programme is open to high school students from across the world who are interested in pursuing their undergraduate education in business and engineering at the Emirates Aviation University. The scholarship will provide a reduction of up to 50% on the yearly tuition fees for the education stream chosen by the candidate.
Candidates will first need to apply for admission through the EAU’s website. On confirmation of acceptance, they can approach the admissions office to be considered for the ‘top achiever’ scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded on a merit basis to students who have achieved over 90% (or the equivalent in other grading mechanisms) during their high school studies. The deadline for applications is 15th July 2018 and the winners of the scholarship awards will be announced progressively in July and August 2018.
This yearly scholarship is renewable at the discretion of EAU but the student would have to maintain a GPA of 3.5 or above in the credit hour system or its equivalent in the modular system during their studies in EAU to qualify for the following year.
“We are delighted to announce this scholarship and are extremely pleased to be able to help even more individuals pursue their educational goals every year. The university remains committed to investing in their future and to providing programmes that help them pursue their dreams”, said Dr. Ahmad Al Ali, Vice-
Chancellor of Emirates Aviation University.
“We view this scholarship programme as another way for us to support the development of our students, by providing them with the means to successfully compete for opportunities. We have every confidence that the young men and women who will benefit from these scholarships will make a significant impact in their professional and personal lives for many years,” added Dr. Ahmad Al Ali.
EAU also has several other established scholarship programmes. The first of these is ‘The Chancellor Scholarship’ where one post graduate and one under graduate student who have achieved an average grade of 95% or CGPA 3.50/4.00 get 100% of their tuition fees waived. This prestigious award is conferred to the highest performing candidates. The second award is ‘The Vice Chancellor Scholarship’ for postgraduate students who have achieved a CGPA 3.50/4.00
EAU also announced last year special offers on its tuition fees for a certain period of time. These offers ranged between 20% and 50% waiver of tuition fees and were granted to all prospective students on foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes. The university also provides special offers on student accommodation which were opened last summer.
EAU offers a wide range of undergraduate programmes in aeronautical engineering, aerospace technology, avionics technology, mechanical engineering, aviation management, general management, global logistics and supply chain management, business management and software engineering. The university is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs and the Knowledge and Human Development in Dubai.
