Dubai, UAE, May 08, 2018: Labour Day celebrates the achievements and contribution of workers around the world. It is a time to recognize their critical roles on the social and economic growth of the nation while raising awareness on the challenges that workers face today.
Skyline University College Services Committee, in collaboration with University City of Sharjah management, organized a cricket match with Sharjah labourers to celebrate Labour Day on May 1, 2018, at SUC Cricket Ground. His Excellency Sheikh Saif Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah University City, attended the occasion to witness the celebration that aimed to recognize the workers’ role in the society. Sheikh Saif presented a certificate of appreciation to SUC for its effort in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Each year, SUC partners with the local government of the University City of Sharjah along with corporates for the yearly celebration of Labour Day. Sharjah laborers took the day off and gathered at SUC ground to play cricket. SUC and the University City of Sharjah management prepared activities, snacks, and gifts for the workers as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work. Cool and Cool was the official corporate sponsor of the event.
SUC Services Committee headed by Dr. Taleb Eli organizes various initiatives every year with the aim to give back to the society as part of SUC’s corporate social responsibility.
