Dubai, UAE, December 12, 2017: 2017 marks the 10th anniversary since the launch of Bremont’s first collection of watches having spent 5 years in R&D. Part of that launch collection back in 2007 was the ALT1-P chronograph which has become a popular choice with civilians and aviation professionals. ‘P’ stands for Pilot as this is a model designed with aviators in mind who demand both accuracy and clarity. Bremont always aimed to create classically understated watches which would never date and the ALT1-P has exemplified this being synonymous with the core Bremont values. As with every classic design, evolution is a necessity and this year sees Bremont update one of its classics.
Giles English, Bremont Co-Founder; “The first Bremont collection comprised a three-model line-up of pilot chronographs which included the ALT1-P. It is not only a watch Nick and I are incredibly proud of as an integral part of the brand’s heritage but also as a timepiece we believe will look as good now as it will in 20 years’ time. Updating the design seemed like a natural progression for this functional yet stylish pilot’s watch.”
The 2017 ALT1-P has new dials and hands housed in a new case design, which remains 43mm in dimension. For the first time, a cream coloured dial will be added to the range to sit alongside the well-known and respected blue and black variants. There is an enlarged exhibition case back with a sapphire crystal to showcase the beautifully finished chronometer-rated automatic BE-53AE movement. New larger Super-LumiNova® hands, and effective dial markers, remain an important feature to maintain the legibility the ALT1-P has become renowned for.
As with most core range pieces the ALT1-P has a stainless steel case made to an exceptional hardness of 2000 Vickers which is seven times that of an average stainless steel watch case. The convex sapphire crystal is equally as hard and has nine layers of anti- reflective coating applied to both sides of the glass for increased legibility. The high standard of finish and attention to detail seen in everything from the hand-cut and engraved winding rotor in the sapphire crystal case back to the meticulous machining of the three-part Trip-Tick® cases take considerable time and skill to apply.
