Breath in, breath out
1969 -2018: The countdown has begun. Sportmax will soon be celebrating its 50th anniversary. An athletic and active look, the sophisticated collection suddenly becomes more fluid and provides even more  free-  dom of movement. A more liberated and relaxed style created for the sidewalks of the great metropoles as well as for beach destinations across the globe.

An unmistakably sensual line where the body is gracefully unveiled as it moves and extends; where a play of transparencies reveals and then conceals in a subtle game of hide and seek. A wonderful new femininity is created by the lightest of techno fabrics. An ethereal look is conceived by a dress, then by a parka and even by a quasi-transparent nylon and double-ply knit cape, with its specially applied ribbed trim, which is worn as a good luck charm. Well-being is instilled by the spirit and by the serenity of enjoying the freedom to be oneself.

The trench coat takes a workwear slant with oversized angled pockets applied with tone-on-tone stitching. This two-fabric trench is long and proposed in a refined palette of colors of the softest cotton; with its spe- cial closure at the neck, it can be worn long or short depending on the weather.
Simply for the beauty of the gesture, the sleeves of the blouses and dresses are pulled up by an elastic and stay up thanks to the graceful cuffs; offering a practical and charming elegance.

The multi-colored stripes, sometimes pale (soft pink, aqua green, blue), sometimes strong (navy blue, nude, yellow), are so many as to appear as one; further materializing in the trim of a knit top and layered under the lightest nylon as well as becoming a sort of “trompe-l’oeil” when used as embellishment on the drawstrings of windbreakers.

The knit top becomes an even more sensual t-shirt, either with narrow flat ribbing or horizontal stripes that let the skin show through.
The Sportmax woman does not chase time; she embraces it naturally. The clothes gather and pull closed       as she desires thanks to elastic drawstrings in four colors displaying the Sportmax logo; the signature of a second skin. The common thread throughout the collection is this graphic trace which defines the lines of   the body and creates movement even when still.

In its many forms, gabardine, stretch or poplin, cotton is prevalent throughout, offering a cool and natural sense of well-being.
Bib-front dresses, oversized and in floral and plant motif prints –like giant hibiscus flowers which lend a surf vibe– are worn over light knit leggings in plain colors or with side bands.

The rhythm of the approaching footsteps, almost animal-like, can be heard in the lightest jacquard knit ballerinas, the leather and neoprene sandals or the mules with their delicate heels. The iconic nylon gym bag, dressed up with leather detailing and a neoprene lining, is slung over the shoulder under the jingling chime of the jewelry, inspired by the metallic gear used for rock climbing.

The Sportmax style for Spring-Summer 2018 pays tribute to an easy and deliberate nonchalance  fully charged with energy.
