Airbus signs MoU with Dubai Land Department to explore the use of advanced geospatial solutions for promoting Dubai properties

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 13 September 2017: Airbus today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) to provide geospatial solutions that will enhance the promotion of properties in the Emirate.
The MoU was signed by H.E Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department and Mikail Houari, Airbus President for Africa and Middle East at the 16 edition of the renowned real estate exhibition, Cityscape Global, which is taking place in Dubai’s World Trade Centre from 11-13 September.
The agreement supports Dubai’s Smart Government directives and it is in line with the UAE Vision 2021 to develop government services and to achieve high quality of life for the UAE citizens and residents. The Dubai Land Department vision is to implement innovative technologies such as 3D and machine learning to enhance the promotion of properties in the Emirate to global audiences worldwide.
Airbus’ geospatial solutions are used around the world to develop 3D models of major cities with an extremely high level of accuracy. By combining data from a number of sources including satellites, mobile sensors and UAVs, Airbus provides high added value advanced imagery and data management solutions to governments to enable the development and implementation of robust land management policies.
Under the terms of the agreement, Airbus and the DLD will explore the development of a pioneering solution consisting of a high definition virtual 3D navigation experience and improve DLD’s property valuation model.
Utilising data driven smart technologies form an important part of DLD’s ambitions to better organise and regulate the Dubai real estate market in addition to catalysing an investment drive in the real estate sector.
H.E Sultan Butti bin Mejren said: “DLD is delighted to announce its partnership with Airbus, which firmly demonstrates DLD’s ongoing commitment to exploring the most innovative solutions to promote Dubai properties globally and further enhance our customer service offerings through accessible and engaging digital technologies.
“Going forward, investors will be able to select and facilitate their investments directly on the web through the DLD portal, thus greatly improving the overall user experience. We look forward to furthering our collaborative relationship with Airbus as we continue to explore the most pioneering technologies in line with Dubai’s Smart Government initiative. Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to focus efforts on individuals and the community, the initiative represent the city's most important hub and seeks to embrace technological innovation to make Dubai an efficient, safe and influential experience for residents and visitors alike.”
DLD and Airbus have also agreed to explore cooperation beyond Dubai in the Middle East.
Mikail Houari said: “This partnership with DLD is very important to us and opens a wide number of opportunities combining the geospatial technologies of Airbus and the unique expertise of DLD in Land Management to go one step beyond in the delivery innovative digital services to governments.
