Department of Economic Development - Ajman successfully completes automation of its administrative and customer services

UAE, 16 August 2017- The Department of Economic Development – Ajman (DED-Ajman) revealed the successful completion of its Unified Automation Platform initiative, resulting in automation of its administrative and customer services. The achievement, which is part of the department’s continuing move to drive in digital and smart transformation across its operations, represents a strong impetus to align the business processes with the latest technical developments--increasing the efficiency of transactions and upgrading the quality of the services provided to its customers and investors, which falls in line with the emirate's efforts to create an attractive investment environment and achieve economic prosperity. The initiative is part of Ajman's Digital Transformation Plan 2017 - 2022, a program launched with an aim to help provide people with innovative and smart digital services that are both fully automated and financially efficient.
DED-Ajman has expressed commitment in further enhancing government services via the streamlining of procedures, which can increase efficiency and productivity--in line with the goals of digital transformation and in adherence to the emirate's move to create guidelines and standards to facilitate smoother business transactions; meet the needs of the local community and support Ajman's efforts to position itself as a thriving business hub.
In the same context, the Department intends to launch and implement a series of quality-based projects, including the launch of 50 eServices in 2017, which is currently being. To date, a set of 12 new services have already been launched, while other services will be launched within the next few months at the average of 12 services per service pack.
Yaqoub Yousuf Rasheed, Director, IT Department, DED-Ajman said that the Unified Automation Platform reflects the future vision of developing strategic guidelines to enable the department to provide smart digital services that meet the needs of investors, government and private sectors and the community. He pointed out that the project has contributed to transforming the traditional administrative and customer services into a more digital approach, thus creating a solid foundation for harnessing ICT systems to provide innovative services that are in line with the department's commitment to support the efforts of UAE government and the emirate of Ajman towards digital transformation.
“The initiative has been highly valued as one of the largest projects under the umbrella of the IT Department, which aim to develop innovative electronic and smart services. We prepared a detailed study to ensure the achievement of the objectives at the level of the department’s structural frameworks, including the business processes, IT systems and technical infrastructure while also meeting the requirements of smart transformation and streamlining the government procedures that would enhance the attractiveness of the local investment environment,” said Rasheed.
“The successful implementation of the Unified Automation Platform project is an important addition to our efforts to use advanced technology in promoting the business environment in Ajman. The development of digital infrastructure and smart and innovative services that support the efforts to facilitate business transactions is one of the strategic priorities to build a sustainable competitive economic environment in line with Ajman Vision 2021,” Rasheed concluded.
