Abu Dhabi, 17 June, 2017: The General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) has signed an agreement with ADNOC Distribution, to diversify and enhance the services of light Vehicle Inspection Centres (VICs) provided by ADNOC Distribution in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The agreement will strengthen the strategic partnership between both sides with the aim of promoting sound traffic safety practices in the emirate.
The agreement was signed by General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, and Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, in the presence of their senior officials.
ADNOC Distribution currently provides light vehicle inspection services in 21 locations across Abu Dhabi emirate: these include eight centres in Abu Dhabi and its suburbs, six in Al Ain region and seven in Al Dhafra region.
General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, said: “This agreement articulates the ADP’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with ADNOC Distribution to offer superior services to motorists in Abu Dhabi. Our cooperation will allow us to increase our inspection capacity by opening new VICs and adding new inspection bays. We are confident that this expanded provision will boost customer confidence in our high-quality services that meet the best international standards and specifications.”
Al Sharifi explained that the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police is prioritising the enhancement of the VIC services to ensure their level of availability keeps up with the increased number of vehicles and population. To this end, ADP seeks to expand the network of technical inspection centres in Abu Dhabi to offer streamlined services to customers.
“We will strengthen our collaboration with ADNOC Distribution to elevate the standards of services offered by VICs and ensure customer satisfaction”, added Al Sharifi.
Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, said: "We are proud of our strategic partnership with ADP and are committed to playing an active role in promoting traffic safety as a key partner in the development of the transportation sector".
He continued, "Our agreement marks a significant step in ADNOC Distribution’s strategy to promote new and innovative products and services that will keep up with fast-paced lifestyle changes in the UAE without compromising our focus on adopting and maintaining best-in-class safety and security technologies and standards."
The agreement provides for two key measures to enhance the current VIC light vehicle technical inspection service portfolio.
The first measure improves VIC capabilities by adding an express technical inspection service through more inspection bays on Abu Dhabi island designed to cope with growing vehicles numbers.
The second measure seeks to expand the geographical reach of vehicle inspection services by offering these services outside inspection centres, including in selected shopping centres in Abu Dhabi. As part of its plans to enhance its VIC provision, ADNOC Distribution will soon announce a raft of new services that will be available at technical inspection centre for light vehicles.
ADNOC Distribution is also committed to investing in its VIC work force and provide them with technical training opportunities to keep up with the latest developments in testing techniques and vehicle models and technologies. This training will ensure that the company’s skilled technicians will help reduce the time required to perform each inspection to no more than 10 minutes.
